madagascar on fire

Madagascar is one of the world’s most important biodiversity hotspots, home to almost 90% of plants and animals found nowhere else on Earth. But deforestation is pushing many species to the brink of extinction.

This film follows Magali and Romain, local conservationists fighting to protect their island’s unique forests and wildlife, capturing both the beauty of Madagascar and the urgent struggle to save it.

Directed, filmed, and edited by Sira Thierij, with field production by Julie Bourdin.
